Better late than never

Ok, so over spring break, Taylor and I went to San Antonio and Austin with another mom and her girls. We had a great time and I am just now getting to posting pictures.

The Alamo was extremely crowded with other spring breakers. I guess great minds think alike. The line was long, but the girls went with the other mom to look at the gardens. We don't have pictures of the inside, because they are not allowed, but we had fun in the courtyard area. With the crowds, it was hard to stop and read much information, but the displays in the other buildings were very interesting and the girls seemed to enjoy themselves. We visited the gift shop and that was more crowded than anything else, so we attempted to be quick about it. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Just can't be made quickly.

After the Alamo, we did a very short walk along the river and caught a quick picture, but then headed home because this pregnant momma was tired and needed to put her feet up.

The next day we visited the capital in Austin. Again, very crowded, but interesting. We began a tour, but could not hear the guide, so dropped off to do our own thing. Mostly that included just walking around and taking pictures. At least they can say they have been there and got to see the House and Senate chambers. Again, more decisions in the gift shop. In an attempt to lighten the mood of the day, we had a picnic lunch at a local park and let the kids play while the adults relaxed. Yeah! They had a blast and wore themselves out. Great planning, huh.

It was a good trip and we were thankful that 4 girls got along for 4 days. Staying with family was great and it was a good trip before our other little girl arrives.
