Project Weekend

This weekend was project weekend around our house. I was tasked with completing baby's room and having it ready for her arrival. (which could be any time, although I think it may be a week or more) There were still things to be sorted and put away and just the finishing touches. But now, everything is ready for her to come.

Taylor and I cleaned the windows and window sills, washed the covers to the car seat and bouncy seat, wiped down every hard surface that whether it needed it or not and vaccuumed. Diapers are in the stacker, clothes are in the dresser, wipes are readily available and the rocking chair stands ready to soothe during the night.

Bill was busy too. The lawn really needed to be mowed, so he did that, then decided that since he had Taylor move her "clubhouse" (for mowing sake), that she needed a place of her own. So in typical daddy fashion, he pulled together some extra lumber we had and built a tree house (more a platform) for her complete with a rope swing nearby.

She is thrilled and has spent a lot of time up there in the past 2 days. Reading, watching birds, or just being alone. We figure this is a good time for her to have her own space. Plans to expand will come later along with a more sturdy swing extension and possible other additions, but not a bad start. He next will include a door with a lock for safety and personal reasons.

Taylor was so excited about her tree house! She told us all about it. I am thrilled that Bill did that for her. What a great weekend to decide to do that. It will be her little place to escape, which she will need.

Not much longer! I cannot wait to meet your little one!
