Broke, busted, burst?

Don't really know what the proper wording is, but it happened around here.

On Monday, Taylor come home and informed me that her ear was hurting.  As I was in the middle of a piano lesson with more on the horizon, I sent her to bed with a heating pad to help minimize and figured it would go away.  Alas, 90 minutes later, the drama ensued.  She emerged with tears, single word responses, and clutching of the offending ear.  Being 5:15 and all the doctor's offices and clinics are now closed, off we go to the ER, anticipating a long night ahead.  After check-in, registration, waiting, more waiting, a cubicle, more waiting, more crying/clutching, a doctor pronounced what we already knew: an ear infection.  Drops ease the immediate pain, Tylenol w/ codeine ensures rest, and antibiotics for the next week.  Home by 7:45 with McD in hand.

Tuesday morning she wakes up to a soaked pillow, grossness from the ear, and no more pain! (I won't ruin your day with the details.)  After internet research (which is equivalent to seeing a doc, right?), I figure the eardrum has ruptured.  Call the doctor.  Oh, and all the insurance changed at midnight during this fiasco.

See the doctor, they confirm, yes it has ruptured.  Will heal itself in 2-3 weeks, see you then.  Be careful in the shower, don't immerse it.  All done!  I left feeling a bit under served, but thankful that no further action is needed.  So now, we wait and praise God for His awesome creation of our bodies and their ability to heal!
