I got to "see" the baby today! My first ultrasound was at 1:00 this afternoon. After waiting around in complete discomfort due to a full bladder, I finally got to see the newest member to our family. What a feeling of awe and wonder to see another human being moving inside with a beating heart at 168 bpm. Who can say that this is just tissue and matter! I can't imagine any woman seeing this and not feeling intense emotions and protection for this unborn child.
Oh, by the way: there only seems to be 1! They have adjusted the due date to June 11 and say that I am about 10 weeks and 5 days. Ok, so we had figured about 11 weeks and 0 days. At this point, with only a difference of 2 days, evertyhings seems fairly accurate and on track. So, I figure a due date anytime in early June. I am guessing that it will change again anyway.
Taylor was thrilled with the picture and was able to identify the major parts: head, eyes, chin, hand, belly. It is sweet to see how excited and interested she is. I know she will be a great big sister and even asked me the other day if we would have to teach her first before letting her change a diaper. I guess I should enjoy it now, before long she may not be so excited about the prospect of changing a diaper. It is all fun and excitement in the beginning...

With a heartbeat that fast, you might be looking at giving Taylor a baby sister! :) (At least if the old wives' tale is true--it was for Karys.) Post that picture for the rest of us to see!!
