Wedding and True Love

Most of you know that my younger brother was married on Sat, Feb 21. Everything went well, but we are glad that it is behind us. He arrived on Thursday and we were able to see his "erector set" on his foot.

He made it through the rehearsal and wedding with pain, but was able to grin and bear it. We all had to be very careful not to bump or hit anything near his foot or leg. This was especially difficult for the nieces and nephews who are used to crawling all over him and using him as a jungle gym. Thankfully, for the wedding, a stool was set up on stage for him to sit and prop his leg up. After the ceremony, a wheelchair was brought, his wife placed in his lap, and they rolled out. It was very well done and romantic in its own way. During the rehearsal, he had to wait and decided to entertain himself by balancing his crutch on his chin.

Taylor was one of the flower girls and was thrilled! She looked so grown up and beautiful in her dress. I did not get great pictures of her, but here is a quick one that I got before I was too busy.

We heard on Wednesday, that Justin had returned to the hospital and they have done the surgery. It was scheduled to be about 3 hours and ended up being alnost 6! This is because things went better than expected. We still don't know exactly what that means, but should receive more information within the next day or two. The "erector set" will be left on for 2-3 months, as they discovered that the outer ankle was also broken. Pins and other hardware are currently in the talus bone, but again no details. The pain is excruciating and he has been given some type of blocker to prevent the brain from receiving all the pain signals. Please continue to pray for him and his new wife. They are both happy, but exhausted. She has truly been through the sickness portion of marriage and we are grateful for her true love. Here is their first dance. He is using a cane to support himself. They really did not "dance", just kind of stood there.
