Doctor Visit

Baby K had a doctor visit on Thursday. I have been wondering about her weight and height since she seems a little on the smaller side to me, but nothing to be concerned about.

Height: 28 inches
Weight: 16 lbs 2 oz





She is right on target for her development:
   pull to standing position - her favorite thing to do, especially in the tub
   stands holding on to furniture - she cruises around the furniture and will move from one to another
   pokes with index finger - finds all sorts of things interesting, daddy's beard, mommy's mole, glasses
   scrutinizes toys and other objects - puts smaller items into larger items, spoon in cup, etc
   explores food with fingers - refer to Drumroll - peas
   imitates speech sounds - all day, every day; she loves to talk and sing
   unsteady balance - starting to let go and try to stand, but falls every time
   able to sit down once standing - I love to watch her squat, then sit
   understands some words - she is learning "no" and "don't touch" and "I love you"
   assets self by not always being cooperative - rapidly approaching toddler years "ahhhhhh"
   may begin to test limits - loves to tear the leaves off my plant despite repeated "reminders"

She is still a joy to our family and we all love to play with her.  Yesterday afternoon while mommy and daddy were talking, she poked her head around the corner and smiled, then ducked back.  She is learning to do peek-a-boo on her own, but not quite there yet.
