Tea for two & Two for tea

On August 20, our big girl T turned 12 years old!  Surely I can't be old enough to have a child in junior high, can I?  Anyway, she chose to spend her celebration in Palestine at Mallard Haven (aka grandma's house) and go to Madeline's Tea Room for lunch.  We all had a wonderful time, ate good food and then went antique shopping for the afternoon.  T brought along her good friend E for the 4 day visit and they had fun in the hot tub, decorating cupcakes, going to the local library, and generally relaxing before school began.

Fun in the hot tub!  Cooling off?  We did not heat the water, but it still ran about 90 degrees.  Cooler than outside.  They had a lot of fun with the bubbles and just playing around.

Decorating cupcakes.
Frosting + sprinkles = finger licking good.

Mommy's little lady.

5 pretty ladies ready for afternoon tea!  The garden is compliments of grandma's green thumb and eye for design.

T and her grandma!  Life is sweet.

They did smile, but the sun was bright and it was very hot.

What to eat? What to eat?  She finally decided on a peanut butter sandwich. Oh, well, she enjoyed it along with the scones, lemon curd, and Devonshire cream.  Tea for everyone, iced of course.

Dining with friends. Good times.

Some of us couldn't wait to eat.

Our place settings.  How lovely.  The girls really felt special and feminine.

Precious T, we are so thrilled to see you grow up to become a young lady.  You certainly have grown fast and we pray that you continue to have a sensitive heart and follow God's plan for your life.  We love you.
